Our Formulation Practices

When compounding herbs, there are many factors to take into consideration. Here are the steps taken in the formulation process:

  1. Our herbalists begin by understanding the underlying causes of a health imbalance in order to determine the primary goal of the formula.
  2. Next, a primary therapeutic herb is selected as the guiding or lead herb, reflecting the overall goal of the formula within its beneficial qualities.
  3. Thirdly, our herbalists assess herbal energetics and add supportive secondary herbs and mushrooms that reinforce the primary action and related organ systems. The secondary herbs are chosen for their ability to accentuate and support the guiding herb, creating a synergy of herbs that unify the constituents of a formula.
  4. Lastly, an appropriate medicinal carrier ingredient is chosen as a base. Some common delivery ingredients we use are cane sugar alcohol, honey, and cacao.

Crafted in small batches, our formulas feature organic and wild-harvested herbs to optimize potency and purity, allowing you to feel their benefits as nature intended.
