Our Community Contributions

At Harmonic Arts, we believe in the power of sustainable action and creating a positive impact on our community and the planet. Each year, we sponsor or donate a percentage of our profits to a variety of local and national educational, environmental and social impact organizations that make a difference within our communities.

As members of 1% For The Planet, we proudly donate 1% of our Elixir and Artisan Tea sales to the Cumberland Community Forest Society (CCFS). We've also been anchor sponsors for their annual Fungus Fest since 2020. Inspired by their actions within our hometown community, we’ve found a number of ways to support their work over the years.

CCFS is a charitable society formed in 2000 with the mission to purchase, protect and care for the Cumberland Forest. Guided by the belief that standing forest is worth more to our community than timber, the organization is largely supported by individuals, organizations and businesses from across the region and beyond. To date, CCFS has purchased 500 acres of forest and placed it under a conservation covenant to ensure its future protection from logging.

Harmonic Arts is a corporate sponsor of the British Columbia Herbalist Association (BCHA).

Founded in 1973, the BCHA is an organization of herbal practitioners and enthusiasts dedicated to guiding and supporting the practice of herbal medicine. Passionate about herbal education, the BCHA monitors and maintains the educational qualifications and practice of herbal practitioners while serving as a collective voice for all herbal practitioners at a governmental level. It aims to increase public awareness and acceptance of herbal medicine through education and research.

Every 2 years Harmonic Arts co-sponsors the Vancouver Island Herb Gathering.

Nestled in a beautiful herb farm in the heart of the Comox Valley, the Vancouver Island Herb Gathering is a deeply enriching in-person learning experience for herbal teachers, students and plant lovers. Born out of a love of plants and community, the Vancouver Island Herb Gathering is a not-for-profit event, with proceeds going to supporting herbalism, plant protection and land conservation in British Columbia.

Since 2020, Harmonic Arts has been a corporate sponsor for the Canadian Herb Conference.

Sprouted from a desire to offer a deep, rich herbal learning experience amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Canadian Herb Conference is a collaborative online conference featuring a dynamic group of Canadian herbal educators. This not-for-profit herbal conference brings together a wide array of Canadian herbalists, teachers and herb lovers to celebrate plant medicine. In 2020, the Canadian Herb Conference was successful in raising $20,000 to support herbal associations and organizations across Canada.

In an effort to support our local community, Harmonic Arts donates $1500 annually to the Cumberland Community School Society, with the funds going wherever they're needed most.

CCSS works in partnership with Cumberland Schools, community groups and volunteers to provide educational and support services for students and local residents while increasing the use of our schools.

At the end of every quarter, our staff selects a charity for us to donate to. These charities focus on the betterment of health, people and the planet, while enhancing and serving the communities in which we live and work. There are various other donations and in-kind gifts that we are thrilled to give to value-aligned organizations and events throughout the year.
